AI Camera BSD Systems: Eliminating Blind Spots on Commercial Vehicles

Commercial vehicles have blind zones that are orders of magnitude larger than those of passenger cars. Door mirrors help, but they leave gaps — gaps that an AI camera BSD system is designed to close. What Makes AI Camera BSD Different from Basic Sensors

Where AI BSD Matters Most: Commercial Vehicle Applications

While consumer vehicles increasingly offer basic blind spot warning lights in side mirrors, the most demanding — and most dangerous — blind spot challenges are found in the commercial sector.
Long-Haul Trucks and Urban Delivery Vehicles. The right-turn blind spot on a tractor-trailer is notorious. A cyclist or pedestrian positioned alongside the cab can be completely invisible to the driver, even with properly adjusted mirrors. Forklifts and Warehouse Vehicles. Forklift blind spots are different from road vehicle blind spots. The load itself often blocks forward visibility. The operator's attention is divided between load handling and vehicle navigation. Pedestrians in the warehouse — pickers, supervisors, visitors — can appear from between shelving units with little warning.
